We kept the hand lettering of the original designs by illustrator Jamie Hogan. I posed actress Matilde Jennifer Paredes (member AEA) in front of a hand-painted canvas holding an apple, a metaphor in the play. Added some photoshopping to give it additional depth and drama. Poster for Portland Stage, The Clean House by Sarah Ruhl, 2019-20 Mainstage season.

I got some sound design feedback while floundering in design hell at the counter at Biddeford’s, Elements Books, Coffee Beer by barista Josh Powers. I think this is my favorite poster of the 2019-20 season. It was my first poster shoot for Portland Stage. It was all-natural light beside a big window in front of a hand-painted canvas – painted by Portland Stage Props Manager Meg Anderson.
